TLC ForumTraditional Literature for Children

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Traditional Literature for Children (“TLC,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through tlcforum.org (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Information you provide: your name and email when you use our contact form, request a free download, register for an event, purchase a membership or shop item, or make a donation.
  • Payment information: processed directly by Stripe, our payment processor. TLC does not receive or store your full card number.
  • Usage data: if you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site traffic (pages visited, general location, referral source).
  • Content you submit: messages sent through our contact form, and — once critique groups launch — manuscripts and comments you choose to share within a group (see our Confidentiality Policy).

How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiries and deliver anything you've requested (like a free download).
  • To process payments, memberships, and donations, and to send receipts.
  • To send occasional updates about TLC News, events, and community features (you can unsubscribe any time).
  • To maintain the safety and integrity of our community, including investigating reported violations of our Terms of Use.

Who we share it with

We use trusted third-party services to run the Site, and only share what each service needs to do its job: Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), Supabase (database and file storage), and Google Analytics (aggregate site analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies). We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to run the Site, and — only with your consent, via the cookie banner — analytics cookies to understand site usage. You can change your choice any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this Site.

Children's privacy

TLC Forum is built for adult writers, illustrators, agents, publishers, and educators who create children's literature — the Site itself is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Data retention

We retain contact form and lead submissions as long as reasonably needed to respond to you and improve TLC Forum, and transaction records as required for accounting and tax purposes.

Your choices

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you by emailing tlcinfo@tlcforum.org.

Reporting procedures

If you believe your privacy has been violated, or that someone has misused your personal information on TLC Forum, please email tlcinfo@tlcforum.org with details. We will acknowledge your report and look into it promptly. If your concern is about another member's behavior rather than data privacy, please also see our Anti-Harassment Policy for how we handle those reports.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
